Kevin Rosen of Solon was sentenced to 3½ years in prison in February 2021 following a guilty plea to aggravated vehicular homicide for the drunk-driving death of Lakewood resident Jason Shimko on the Jennings Freeway in November 2019. Larry Zukerman, managing partner of Zukerman, Lear & Murray Co., LPA, represented Rosen and was able to secure the dismissal of the most serious charges after identifying errors in the blood analysis used against his client. Zukerman told the Cleveland Jewish News that in over 36 years of practice, Rosen stood out as one of the very few clients who accepted full, sincere responsibility for his actions at sentencing — calling it a case where a single tragic decision permanently altered two families’ lives.
