LIMITATION OF RIGHTS WHILE UNDER FELONY INDICTMENT:

*It is important to note that while under indictment for a felony offense, an individual should be aware of certain limitations of his/her rights, as set forth below:

Be advised that 18 U.S.C. § 922(n) https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/922 (Federal Law) prohibits the shipment or transportation in interstate or foreign commerce of any firearm or ammunition and prohibits the receipt of any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce by any person who is under indictment for a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one (1) year. Accordingly, you cannot ship transport any firearm of ammunition in interstate or foreign commerce and you cannot acquire any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce while under indictment.

Further, any individual under indictment for a felony offense of violence or a felony offense involving the illegal possession of drugs may not possess a firearm. See R.C. 2923.13 http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2923.13v1 .

An individual under felony indictment has the possibility of loss of freedom. An individual may be held in jail until his trial or may be let out on bond. If on bond, an individual likely must abide by travel restrictions, which may require court permission to travel outside the state or country.
